Our next talk in the Acquiring the Mind of the Church series, Saint Barnabas’ adult spiritual formation class, will take place on Saturday, September 19th, 2015 at 10 AM at St Barnabas Orthodox Church.
Fr Patrick O’Grady is Sr Priest at St Peter the Apostle, Pomona, CA California.
Fr Patrick will speak about the history of, the purpose of (“why can’t I merely make my confession to God?”), the preparation for (e.g. how often; what should I confess), and perhaps how different traditions and jurisdictions regard or mandate confession as it relates to receiving the Holy Eucharist (must one make formal confession before each Eucharist?). The focus will primarily be practical information that will help our parishioners value, understand and become more regular at the confessional.
Everyone is encouraged to attend.
Supervised childcare will be provided. Coffee and refreshments will be served at 9 a.m., followed by classes (and discussion) from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on these Saturday mornings.
