Dr Eve Tibbs
Our next talk in the ‘Acquiring the Mind of the Church’ series, Saint Barnabas’ adult spiritual formation series, will take place on Saturday, March 12th , 2015 at 10 AM at St Barnabas Orthodox Church.
Our guest speaker is Dr. Eve Tibbs, Affiliate Associate Professor of theology at Fuller Theological Seminary (Music director and chanter at St Paul Greek Orthodox Church, Irvine).
Her talk will be on “Ancient Heresies and Their Influence Today.” Dr Tibbs will provide an overview of the early Christian heresies and how the Church resolved them and their modern re-emergence. A question and answer period will be available at the end of the lecture, so be there to get your questions answered.
St Barnabas is diligently seeking to provide its community with the finest in adult education. While many converts to the Orthodox Church have an excellent understanding of the major Biblical figures and stories, few have access to college level content that makes distinct how an Orthodox understanding of the world differs from that which is commonly taught in the Western Church. This series is a great opportunity to discover those truths that are sadly hidden or missing. We believe you will be pleasantly surprised at how valuable the content of this series is as well as the quality of the speakers. Be sure to sign up early and mark the dates on your calendar.
