The word “patience” means “to endure.”
It means to bear and put up with people and things.
It means to carry the burdens of others, and of “the heat of the day.” It means to watch and to wait, not to hurry and to rush.
It means literally to suffer with and to suffer through, in quiet expectation of the hoped-for result.
For only those, says Jesus, who endure to the end will be saved (Mt. 24:13)
